About the INSIGHT Inventory
The INSIGHT Inventory:
Approaches testing differently
It measures behavior but, focuses primarily on why people may behave differently in various environments: work, team membership, leadership roles, personal life, etc.
Uses Conversational Language
It avoids the use of codes, colors, EQ ratings, and catch phrases. It instead uses conversational language that everyone understands. Even team members or co-workers who haven’t taken it can join in and discuss the results.
Answers the “so what” question
It focuses on more on application and how to flex, change, adapt, and eliminate triggers and hot buttons than on learning trait descriptions.
Factors in the influence of environments
It acknowledges that most people change behavior between environments. This helps users drop judgments of others (because they only see them in one setting) and learn more about their own reactions to stress.
Identifies how stress and triggers can make everything go wrong
Emphasizes that the best intentions to communicate and lead better can be lost when triggered by stress. Participants learn to eliminate their derailing reactions and move back to their strengths.
Tul’chyn Considerations for facilitators and trainers
The INSIGHT Inventory:
Doesn’t require certification
The online Facilitator Center is available 24/7 and offers a comprehensive selection of facilitator guides, activities, videos, and slides. Public train-the-trainer seminars and a (soon to come) online train-the-trainer e-course are also available.
Is available in various formats
The INSIGHT Inventory comes in two forms: 1) self-scoring paper booklet and 2) online reports. There are two versions of the online report, a personalized narrative version that speaks directly to the user and a workbook version that is ideal for courses and training sessions. This work book version is very similar to the self-scoring paper booklet. Both online versions also provide access to the additional Team Map report and Observer Feedback reports.
Is NOT
The INSIGHT Inventory is not a DiSC version, a MBTI derivative, StrenghtsFinder2.0 indicator or the Insights Discovery test. However, we believe all assessments have specific value and we provide resources to use the INSIGHT Inventory with other assessments in complementary ways (1+1>2). The INSIGHT Inventory is most closely related to factor-analytically derived assessments such as the 16 PF, Big 5, or Hogan Assessment. However, the INSIGHT Inventory it is uniquely different since it focuses on Kurt Lewin’s Field Theory, how people change from one setting to another rather than on only identifying traits. (Behavior is a function of the Personality within an Environment B=f[PxE])
